Preparing your Body, Mind, and Spirit for your Journey
Before

Preparing your Body, Mind, and Spirit for your Journey
You are about to begin a deeply meaningful journey. This experience may offer deep insight and opportunities for renewal, insight, and inner growth. Preparing ahead of time helps you feel safe, supported, and open to what may unfold.
Allow yourself time – perhaps 1 to 2 weeks – to gently prepare.
Body
- Choose clean, simple foods that nourish and feel right for your body.
- If you use alcohol, cannabis, or other substances, consider gradually reducing them in the days leading up to your session. You might aim to pause alcohol use for at least 3 days before and after, if that feels supportive.
- Notice any ways you tend to numb or distract, and try offering yourself a few slow, cleansing breaths instead
- Practice inhaling ease, and exhaling what no longer serves your highest good.
- On the day of your journey, plan for time without your phone, intoxicants, or smoking so that you can stay fully present.
- Treat this as a meaningful moment – as if you’re preparing to meet your highest self, the mystery of life, or whatever feels true for you.
Mind & Spirit
I invite you to spend a little quiet time each day to write, reflect, or simply breathe.
Begin to trust yourself, trust life, and trust what is unfolding for you.
Begin to have awareness of your body and open to what it may be quietly sharing. What sensations do you notice? Does your body feel open, or does it feel tight? Imagine yourself as a gentle biofeedback instrument – noticing what brings a smile, what brings ease.
When you sense resistance, allow yourself to lean into the experience with curiosity. Breathe, and release.
Begin preparing your nervous system by walking barefoot in the grass, breathing in the scents of nature, humming softly, or resting your hand over your heart. These simple acts can nourish a sense of unconditional love within.
Explore something outside your comfort zone – even a small step can open new possibilities.
Begin to connect with the spirit of psilocybin, or the spirit of your journey, if that feels comfortable to you. Imagine a kind, inner conversation.
Listen to music that feels unfamiliar yet beautiful, and reflect on what within you is ready to be seen and welcomed.
Gently bring attention to habits that no longer serve you. Simply begin to notice these patterns and soften them with compassion for yourself.
Setting Intentions
Consider the changes you long for.
Reflect on what may be holding you back from living the life you truly wish.
Ask yourself what you are ready to release.
Sense the new dreams or goals that are ready to unfold.
As feelings or memories arise, allow yourself to lean into them with curiosity. Allow questions and answers to come. Allow your heart to speak.
Writing down your reflections can be powerful. These gentle explorations may help shape your experience and support your integration afterward.
You may wish to ask: If tomorrow were to be my last day, what would I wish to accomplish? What truly holds meaning for me? What truly calls to my heart?
Setting intentions is about naming what feels most important at this moment.
The Day Of

Session Day Preparations
The day of your session is an opportunity to care for your body, mind, and spirit with simplicity and presence. Gentle preparation helps you feel grounded and supported as you enter this meaningful space.
- Eat a light breakfast – something simple and nourishing. If you wish, take a gentle walk or do something that helps you feel grounded.
- Wear comfortable clothing, and feel free to bring a change of clothes if that brings ease.
- Leave your electronic devices behind so you can stay fully present.
- Avoid perfume or makeup – your natural self is perfect as you are.
- You may bring small personal items for the intention altar, such as stones, photos, or symbols that help you feel steady and supported.
- You are welcome to bring a blanket, a weighted blanket, or a comfort item – perhaps a small stuffed animal or something else that brings peace.
- Pack a light snack for after your session – something grounding, sealed, and in accordance with OHS Rule 333-333-5170.
- You are also welcome to bring a journal and colored pencils if you’d like to draw or write during your integration time.
After

Integration: After Your Journey
After your journey, thoughtful integration helps you honor what you’ve experienced. These gentle practices support your body’s renewal and invite insight to unfold naturally.
Give yourself time to rest and recover. If possible, consider keeping your schedule light for a week so you can care for yourself with kindness and allow space for gentle exploration after your journey.
Allow yourself to pause on making major decisions for at least a week, giving space for clarity to emerge.
Take a bath or shower with sea salt or calming essential oils – perhaps lavender – to help cleanse and soothe.
Try writing in a free, flowing style. Let your experience speak through your pen without concern for structure.
Spend quiet time alone, if you wish, or with a trusted, supportive person or people who help you feel safe and cared for – people you know will honor your experience with kindness and respect.
Drink water. Nourish your body gently and with care.
Consider avoiding alcohol for at least 3 days afterward to support your integration.
Listening to soft or uplifting music may allow you to feel supported.
And most of all: rest. Be gentle and loving with yourself. Allow the meaning of your journey to unfold slowly and naturally.
